Cedar deck, 4 x 4 m

Cedar is lighter to work than hardwood and stays stable, so it suits a deck that is seen close up. Left untreated it silvers; oiled once a year it holds its colour. The quantities are the same as any softwood deck of this size.

Free, no sign-up. This is a material take-off, not a structural design; spans, footings and guards still need checking against local rules.
